WHY EARN A GEORGIA WORK READY CERTIFICATE?
IT OPENS DOORS, ENCOURAGES CAREER PLANNING AND HELPS IMPROVE A COMMUNITY’S QUALITY OF LIFE!

The Georgia Work Ready Certification program is available for graduating seniors through their local technical college. It will provide them with a tool to match their abilities with the best employment opportunities.  The Georgia Work Ready Certificate along with a high school diploma will better prepare them for their future, whether they look for immediate employment or further education or both.

RESOURCES FOR STUDENTS

Educators should encourage their graduating students to become certified to improve their chances of success in entry-level and subsequent jobs.  By encouraging their graduating students to prepare to earn a Georgia Work Ready certificate whose outcomes are matched to occupations, they will help them prepare for their future career goals. Graduating seniors can use the results to make career and post-secondary education decisions.

INFORMATION FOR EDUCATORS

Communities that encourage their graduating seniors and adult workers to become certified could be recognized as a Georgia Certified Work Ready Community.  The communities that obtain this distinction will better enhance their possibilities for economic development by best using the skills of their high school graduates, thus improving the communities 'quality of life'.  Along with encouraging the adult community to become certified, counties must demonstrate a commitment to increasing their public high school graduation rate.
