Test/Retest Recommendation

For a second administration of an assessment in the same skill area:

• It is always preferable to use an alternate form of the assessment for retesting
• If testing sooner than 30 days after the first administration, an alternate form must be used. (Note: There are no alternate forms for Spanish assessments; consequently, an examinee may not retest until after 30 days following the first administration)
• It is strongly recommended that a person receive intervention/training before retesting.
• In those cases where no alternate for is available, a retest may take place as soon as the person is recovered.

For a third administration of an assessment in the same skill area:

• If another intervention/training has occurred, the third administration may take place immediately following completion of that intervention/training
• If no alternate form is available, testing may not take place sooner than 90 days following the previous administration.
