Northwest Georgia
Career Pathway
Georgia is a state that values life-long learning. We understand that as our economy and the marketplace change, and technological innovations are realized, it is important for workers to have the most up-to-date skills and training. We also know that it is never too early to start on the road toward career success. From elementary through post-secondary education and beyond, Georgia emphasizes STEM education (science, technology, engineering and math) to boost critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Going further, we have created Georgia Work Ready Regions to link education and workforce and align to the needs of employers statewide to build a pipeline of talented workers ready to take on today's jobs, and the innovations of tomorrow. This approach addresses knowledge developed through the state's education institutions, work readiness skills identified through Work Ready Certificates and job profiles, and experienced gained through employment, continuing education and specialized training.
Georgia has built a clear career pathway for the advanced manufacturing industry to ensure workers have the skills they need and companies are confident they will have a steady stream of employees ready to hit the ground running.
The region's career pathways were determined by a regional industry network survey conducted in 2009. If you would like more information on the region's critical jobs, please visit Talent Management section of this site.
